Online Live Classes Start September 8th
If you are unable to attend our on-campus classes, we invite you to take your next traditional or digital class online with our esteemed professional instructors who work for top studios such as: Blue Sky Studios, Disney, Dreamworks, Riot Games, Universal and many more… Our online live classes are held in real-time where students are able to interact with the instructors directly. A typical class will include: Demo, lecture, in-class exercise, critiques and homework. We have a special introductory rate of $495. Limited seats are available. Enroll Now! Enjoy this summer learning, developing and keeping your skills sharp with our tremendous list of skilled professional instructors! With years of experience under their belt teaching and working in the art industry, you will find they will help you achieve your goal. All our classes are designed to encourage beginning, intermediate, advanced and professional artists in a friendly intimate learning environment. All studios come with natural light beaming from the rooftop, horses, easels and unlimited coffee in our break-room. We encourage you to take a look at our convenient schedule of classes that include 4, 6, 8 and 10-weeks classes. In addition, we are also excited to bring you top visiting artists for the summer and fall.
Drawing Program for Teens and Recent Graduates
This coming July, we have a 4-week full-time intensive drawing program designed just for students who want to improve their drawing skills. This program includes: Anatomy, Classical Drawing, Composition, Figure Construction and Perspective. Scholarships are available. Students must register by June 1st.
Fall Applications for Full-time Programs
Fall is just around the corner and we encourage all students to start the application process now. We only accept a small number of students each year and have limited spots for each of our programs. In addition, for those who are international students or qualify for veterans benefits, you will need extra time to process your required documents. This can take over 2 months depending on your situation. Please feel free to reach out to our Director of Admissions for any questions or help with the admissions process. We have added additional Complimentary Demonstrations available to the art community! This is a great way to learn the different methods and techniques that an instructor will teach you during his class. Students will have the opportunity to enroll in the class after the demonstration.

Animal Drawing Workshop Starting August 2nd – $195
Register for Marshall Vandruff’s 3-Day Animal Drawing Workshop by Tuesday (July 30th) to take advantage of LAAFA’s Visiting Artist Enrichment Series. These enrichment lectures, workshops and demos give the community a super affordable option in art education throughout the year at LAAFA.
The Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art (LAAFA) is accepting applications for our Fall full-time degree and atelier programs. LAAFA is considered a premier choice for students wanting an intensive art program that provides the necessary foundation skills allowing our students to apply these fundamentals to a career in the fine art or entertainment art industry.
3. Portfolio pieces including the required drawing need to be sent in JPEG format (each image approximately 1280 x 800).
A. Create a zip folder with your first initial and full last name.
B. Email to the Admissions Department.
5. Once we have received a students’ completed application, it will take approximately 10 to 14-days for a reply.
6. If accepted into our program, students are eligible to apply for our scholarship program.
LAAFA operates on a rolling admissions basis. Prospective students are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis for the next available starting quarter. LAAFA only accepts a small number of students to the program each year. We hope you will consider LAAFA as the start of your artistic journey. Our library is coming soon! We would greatly appreciate any book (lightly used) donations. You may bring all types of books from art to murder mysteries. In addition, if you have any backdrop material (silk sheets), furniture or any other cool items that we can use at the school, please call or email us about your items.
