What advice would you give a friend who was thinking about coming to LAAFA?
If you make the most of your time here by going to class, seeking out and consulting the teachers that are most helpful to you, constantly working to improve your skills and ideas – you will get what you want out of the school. You get what you put into your experience here.
What’s the most challenging aspect of studying art in general?
The most challenging aspects of studying art are figuring out what you want to say with your art, how to say it, what kind of impact you want to have on the viewer and how to merge your technical skills with your concept.
Where do you find inspiration?
I find inspiration in nature, literature, art, music, and random life experiences – anywhere, really! I think that it is naive to sit back and wait for inspiration to hit you – you have to take every possible opportunity to actively seek it out.
